Dry mouth

A dry mouth happens to all of us, for example after strenuous exercise or when waking up. However some people always have a dry mouth. That often means the salivary glands are not working properly (hyposialie). A dry mouth, also called xerostomie or dry mouth syndrome, can lead to unpleasant complaints and can also result in faster development of caries or other oral health problems.

Dryness in the mouth can even cause social isolation when eating and speaking become more difficult, or if the patient is worried about bad breath. Talk to one of our practitioners, so that we can look for a solution together.
